Astrid founded the Migrant Integration Center of Brasov in 2012 after completing her studies in the field of international migration (PhD University of Bucharest, Master of Arts at the University of Massachusetts and Copenhagen University, Bachelor at Copenhagen University and Transilvania University in Brașov). She contributed to the development of this Center both through academic and practical training (continuous specialized training). In 2016, before the EU-Turkey pact, Astrid volunteered on the island of Lesbos (Greece) assisting refugees arriving by boat from Turkey.

Corina spent over ten years in the international work environment and returned to Brasov in 2016, after living in London, Bucharest, Amsterdam and Willemstad. She has a Master of Science in Environmental and Resource Management from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. She believes that a world in which there is a balance in the relationship between people, planet and profit (people-planet-profit) is an option that we have for a sustainable future. She has experience in teaching Romanian to foreigners and has worked for almost two years in a training center in London teaching English and supporting immigrants from different countries and categories.
Nicoleta is a current monitoring expert within ADR Centru Brasov where she deals with monitoring ROP 2007-2014 and ROP 2014-2020 projects. He worked as Deputy Executive Director, Resources, Programs, Development Projects Directorate (appointed, until December 2014, Coordination, European Integration Directorate) and Senior Adviser Head of External Relations, Education, Culture and Tourism Service Coordination of projects and service within the Directorate Coordination, European Integration within Brasov County Council.
Project assistant Erasmus +
Anastasia started working at the Migrant Integration Center in Brasov as a volunteer. Over time, she became one of the core members of our Center. She was always an award-winning student, and now she is a scholarship student at the Faculty of Medicine in Brasov and she is the connection between our Center, young Romanians and other foreign students / young people, so today she is an Erasmus + project assistant at our Center. She is fluent in Romanian, Russian and English.
Manuel Gaspar Moran
Manuel finished high school in Lima, Peru. In addition to his native Spanish, Manuel is fluent in Italian and Romanian. He started collaborating with our Center as a volunteer. Since 2019 he is one of the intercultural mediators of our Center. He supports us by identifying and recommending immigrants to our Center, assists them in their relationship with our Center, in their relationship with local authorities and institutions, and provides language translation and support for the Centre’s activities.
Ali is of Syrian origin, but also has Romanian citizenship. He studied in Syria and Saudi Arabia and in 2018 he obtained a scholarship at the Transilvania University of Brasov, Faculty of Medicine. He was a volunteer of our Center, and now works as an intercultural mediator for the Romanian and Arabic languages.
Modesta Peralta Sosa
Modesta comes from the Dominican Republic, a small island in the Caribbean Archipelago. A nutritionist, she has a long-term stay in Romania and is fluent in Spanish, English and Romanian, as well as knowledge of Romanian culture, customs and traditions. She has worked as a mediator in our Center for the last 4 years. She is preparing to submit the file for Romanian citizenship. She supports the Center by identifying and recommending immigrants to our services, assists them in their relations with our Center, local authorities and institutions, and provides language translation and support for the Centre’s activities.
Liailia is from Russia and she is studying Sociology at Transilvania University of Brasov. She has been an academic volunteer and she has done her bachelor and master degree researches at our Center with the support of the Coordinator and other members of the Center who helped her with interviews in her fieldwork.
